City  of RiverWood

The RiverWood neighborhood was founded in 1961 by Paul Semonin, Jr. Nestled near the riverbanks in Louisville, Kentucky, RiverWood sits at the foot of the historic Locust Grove home founded by William and Lucy Clark Croghan in 1792.

The City of RiverWood is a 6th class city composed by 184 residences in north-eastern Jefferson County. RiverWood is governed by a Mayor who is elected for a four year term, four Commissioners who are elected for two year terms, and a Treasurer and Secretary who are appointed by the Mayor.

RiverWood’s close proximity to award winning schools, churches of many denominations, shopping and quick access to downtown make it a wonderful place to call home. Surrounded by woods and bordered by a creek, RiverWood is also home to lots of wildlife.
